Video of Shivabalayogi in Adivarapupeta 1984, 1985 & 1986
Shiva Weds Parvati is edited from nine hours of video tape
taken during Swamiji’s visits to Adivarapupeta for Mahashivaratri of 1984, 1985
and 1986. On this annual occasion, devotees perform a wedding of the gods Shiva
and Parvati in the form of two statues. The scenes show Swamiji holding the
idols on his shoulders, parts of the wedding ceremony itself, and Shri Swamiji
giving darshan both inside the ashram building and outside where the wedding was
conducted by the priests, Swamiji sitting on the ashram building roof chatting
with a few devotees, pada pujas (worship of Swamiji's feet), Swamiji blessing
babies, and doing puja (worship) in the meditation temple.
