The Seva Foundation has over two hours of film and a hundred and fifteen hours of video tape of Shri Swamiji. The clips on this site are short samples in low resolution of some of this material that is available on DVD. Some complete, short programs can be viewed on Google video. Jesus, Yogis & Spiritual Leaders When Shivabalayogi was traveling in the West, he often engaged in conversations where devotees asked questions on a wide variety of subjects. This conversation in Las Vegas on April 16, 1991, was recorded on video and is a good example of what it was like when Shri Swamiji communicated in words. He was humorous, loving, direct and surprisingly uncompromising. It is also typical in that Shri Swamiji often talked with Western devotees about the difference between God realized yogis who know from direct experience, and spiritual leaders who get their knowledge from books. Click HERE for the sample. (WMA file, Windows Media) Italishwara In 1989, Shri Swamiji consecrated a white marble Shiva linga near Venice, Italy, and named it Italishwara, meaning Lord of Italy. The scenes on this edited video were recorded on this occasion. DVD video. Click HERE for the sample. (WMA file, Windows Media) Return to Adivarapupeta Shri Swamiji returned to Adivarapupeta for the last time for Mahashivaratri of 1994, which was on March 10 that year. This program (except the last scenes) was edited from several hours of Hi8 video tape taken by Tom Palotas. The scenes include: Swamiji on the train and his arrival in Kakinada and procession through Adivarapupeta on March 9; the Mahashivaratri function at the Adivarapupeta ashram; scenes of Adivarapupeta village and ashram, including the place by the canal where Swamiji first sat in tapas and the Dhyana Mandir before it was torn down and replaced by the new temple; Swamiji bathing with devotees in the ocean near Kakinada and in the Godavari River near Rajamundry; Swamiji consecrating the foundation of the new weaver’s cooperative building in Adivarapupeta; and Swamiji visiting devotees’ homes. (WMA file, Windows Media) Adivarapupeta 1963 The earliest film we have was taken in Adivarapupeta in March of 1963, about a year and a half after Shivabalayogi completed twelve years of tapas and shortly before he left Adivarapupeta for the first time. This color film shows how generously Shri Swamiji gives divine experiences. The excerpt here is of Swamiji himself in samadhi and then with eyes open inside the Dhyana Mandir (meditation temple) where he sat for tapas. (WMA file, Windows Media) Madras 1970 Various programs were organized for Shivabalayogi in Madras over the period of December 10th to 15th of 1970. The color film was entitled, "Sri Sri Sri Balayogi Maharaj Camp at Hemamalini, No. 155, Lloyds Road, Madras 14". This excerpt shows a robust and radiant Swamiji giving darshan at a public program. This film is part of the "Shivabalayogi Movie Collection" DVD video. Click HERE for the sample. (WMA file, Windows Media) One Year Tapas, Bangalore From August 7, 1968, until August 7, 1969, Shivabalayogi did tapas for world peace at the Bannerghatta Road ashram. For that one year period, he remained inside his room and received no visitors. The day the taps was completed, he gave darshan to a vast crowd estimated by some newspapers at over a hundred thousand. At least three films were taken on that occasion, one of them in color. This excerpt is of Shri Swamiji emerging before the crowd.
