Christmas Day, Adivarapupeta Christmas Day, Adivarapupeta ashram. Christmas Day, 2005, at the Adivarapupeta ashram. Swamiji's birthday, January 24, 2006.
The first photograph of jyotis (astral lights): "There are some five hundred or more children sitting outside the Samadhi. It is night time and there is a power cut. All the children are getting excited. I came down having just come out of meditation and decided to try to take some photos. Frustrated that there was no light, I did an experiement. I pointed the camera in the direction of the assembled children and randomly clicked. The flash went off, the children roared with excitement, and out came the first jyoti!" A devotee is dressed up as Father Christmas, a ribbon of fire-like light from (or to) his hand. There are numerous orbs, round balls of astral light, that may be astral bodies. Note also that there is a second, subtle image of Father Christmas to his right. Father Christmas is standing in front of the ashram building that is now the Samadhi, the place where Shivabalayogi's sacred body is interred. Many scores of photographs with light bodies, shakti patterns, cloud-like forms, and other ordinarily inexplicable distortions were taken in Adivarapupeta during various functions from December 2005 to January 2006. Here, a ribbon of shakti rises up from (or descends to) the camphor flame. Swamiji said that when one does arthi (offer camphor flame) to him or an image of God, the blessings appear as forms of colored light. Ribbon of energy arises from the camphor flame of an arthi tray. Different colors of energy ribbons. Numerous balls of astral light appear in this photo taken in front of the Samadhi in Adivarapupeta. Devotees in the background are holding a photo of Shivabalayogi. Two energy patterns, cobra-like, as if dancing in unison.
